January is absolutely one of the best months to live in Adelaide, and for the kids still enjoying their well-earned, extended holiday break before the start of the new school year, there are ample things to see and do to keep them out of trouble.

What’s on?

The SkyLine Attractions Observation Wheel at Glenelg is new for 2019, and is the tallest travelling, portable observation wheel in Australia at 35m high, with 24 Gondolas that seat up to 144 people at capacity.

And, if you needed more reason to venture down to Glenelg with the kids, when you’re done with your bird’s eye view over the beautiful Jetty road and Glenelg beach, you can move over a mere few metres and find yourself and the kids right in the heart of the Glenelg Foreshore Playground.

But be warned, the kids may have already spotted that and are way ahead of you!

And in keeping with the beach theme for the kids, Semaphore puts on Summer Markets on selected Friday nights through January.

It’s the perfect chance for something that bit different for the kids, and while you’re there, it’s the perfect time to go for a dip and cool off at the beach once you’ve done the shopping!

Something more Colossal?

The Adelaide Zoo will take the kids to a prehistoric world of gigantic dinosaurs and insects every day through the school holidays in January, seeing them come face to face with spiders the size of horses, wasps the size of tigers, and dinosaurs bigger than buildings.

This is not only an amazing experience for the kids, but it will keep them busy all day long, and have them raving about it for days and weeks to come.

And what kid doesn’t love to see all the colour and excitement of the Tour Down Under? January sees the TDU hit the streets of Adelaide and surrounds, so it’s the perfect family outing to grab the kids and find that prefect vantage point to set up and cheer on your favourite riders.

Life in Adelaide need never be boring.

If you’re looking for things to do this school holiday January with the Kids, Adelaide is turning it on with kid-friendly events all over town.

The above is only just scratching the surface of all the fun things happening, so get on out of the house and see what other amazing things Adelaide has on the agenda for you.

You’ll be glad you did, and the kids will love you for it!
