This can be a tough question to answer for a lot of people. There are those who can’t wait to get out of the place they’re in for a raft of different reasons, and then there are those who struggle with the move and reset into a new place.
For those who struggle with ambiguity, moving can be a really stressful time. Often this is because you must give four weeks’ notice to the landlord prior to moving from your current place, and then you need to find yourself the perfect new place to live. And on top of that, you need to apply along with a host of other people who also love that ‘perfect place’. So, worrying about whether you’ll find the right place, or the difficulty in moving everything can sometimes stop people making the change and keep them somewhere they don’t love; somewhere that doesn’t feel like a home.
A place to call home
If the place you’re in doesn’t feel like a home to you, then it might be time to think about where you’re at and consider making that move. Home doesn’t necessarily need to be a place that you own; it just needs to be the place you feel most comfortable and safe.
A change or a move, as scary as it might seem sometimes is almost always a good thing. It can gently prod people out of their comfort zones and be a driving force for people to grow and experience new things in their lives. When a house doesn’t feel like a home, it is likely not the right place for you to be.
So, if you’re one of those people who love the security of a home, rather than a place you can only call a house, then don’t feel like you’re alone in that search for comfort and security. At McGrath Real Estate we understand how hard a move can be, and we make a special effort to support those making a move in their lives, and ensure they know we’re here to support them and help them find that perfect place to call a home.
