From time to time, you might need to give notice when choosing to leave your rental property.

Here are the links to the official forms from the State Government’s Business and Consumer Affairs site, which we need to use under current regulations.

Simply download and print out the one that applies to your tenancy, then return it to us in person, by mail, by fax, or by email (if you are able to fill it in electronically).

If you have a fixed term lease agreement, typically for 6 or 12 months, use this form

For tenants with a fixed term lease agreement, typically for 6 or 12 months, use this form.

FORM 4B – Residential Tenancies Act 1995 NOTICE OF TERMINATION BY TENANT AT END OF FIXED TERM TENANCY (GENERAL FORM)

Please note the following:

  • Use of this form means you are giving 28 days notice of your intention to vacate the premise you are renting
  • If this is an early departure, meaning you will be breaking your lease, you will be liable for paying the rent until a new tenant has been secured and a portion of the advertising and letting fees

If you have a periodic tenancy, please use this form

For tenants with a periodic tenancy, use this form.

FORM 5 – Residential Tenancies Act 1995 NOTICE OF TERMINATION BY TENANT FOR A PERIODIC TENANCY (GENERAL FORM)

Please note the following:

  • Use of this form means you are giving 21 days notice of your intention to vacate the premise you are renting
